Long Beach Island towns.
Town Details
LBI is divided into a number of independent communities.
Each town has it's own government and, for the most part, it's own services. Our
pages below will take you to information about each of these towns including
attractions, dining and accommodations. Zip codes for the island include 08008
and 08006.
Barnegat Light. Barnegat Light is
the northernmost Community on the Island. It is known for it's lighthouse and
fleet of fishing boats. Barnegat Light's collection of Victorian Buildings is
second only to Beach Haven. However, none of these are currently open as Bed
and Breakfasts.
Harvey Cedars is a fairly affluent
community at the northern end of the island. There are a couple of good
restaurants located there.
Surf City - Surf City is just north of
the Causeway. There are a number of restaurants of all types there as well as
arcades, marinas and hotels.
Ship Bottom
- Ship Bottom is near the
middle of the island and is the location of the causeway.
Beach Haven - An older part of the
island with most of the bed and breakfasts and Victorian buildings, a fishing fleet and a lot of
restaurants.
Long Beach Township - The
township is not contiguous. It is separated by Beach Haven, Ship Bottom and
Surf City.
